New Patients
New Patients
We welcome new patients for consultation with all of the cardiologists in our practice. Your primary care physician may refer you to our practice, or you may make a call directly. When you call to make an appointment, please ask to speak with the appointment secretary. In either case, we appreciate the opportunity to participate in your medical care.

When you come to our office for your first visit, please arrive 30 minutes early to complete a medical history and an insurance form. The information that you provide will allow us to provide you with the best medical care possible.

Please bring the following with you to your first appointment:
  • Bring all medications to your appointment;
  • Your medical records, including prior heart tests and blood test results;
  • The name, address, and phone number of the physicians who you are seeing now, or saw in the past;
  • Your Medicare, Medigap, or medical insurance cards;
  • Pacemaker or heart valve identity card if you have one.
Appointments
Appointments
We try to make follow-up appointments at the time that you check out from the current visit with your doctor. If you have not done so, we encourage you to make an appointment as far in advance as possible. We encourage you to call the office during office hours 8:30 am to 4:30 pm and ask to speak with the appointment secretary.

During office hours we make every effort to remain on schedule and avoid unnecessary waiting. To insure that you receive the time and attention you require, we ask that you arrive to your appointment on time. Occasionally, unavoidable emergencies arise. In those cases, our staff will contact you to make alternative arrangements. We appreciate your understanding and recognition that the same emergency priority would be extended to you.
Cancellations
Cancellations
If you cannot keep a scheduled appointment, please notify us as soon as possible - at least 24 hours in advance. This allows us to make an appointment for another patient who would like to see the doctor.

There is a $25 charge for all non-cancelled TESTING. Please be aware that we order a nuclear agent, specifically for each patient having a stress test. The cost is $75 and delivered to this office the morning of your test. That fee will be transferred to the patient if you do not cancel 24 hours prior to your appointment time.

Billing And Insurance Information
Billing And Insurance Information
The Physicians and staff of the South County Heart Center are committed to providing you with the highest quality medical care. We do understand your concerns about the cost of the care you receive.

We strongly request that all patients coming to the South County Heart Center for this first time bring all pertinent insurance information and identification cards. At the time of check out we will give you a receipt so that you will have a record of all payments and services on your appointment day. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express and personal checks. If your visit is covered by health insurance, we can file your insurance claim when you bring your membership card.

Your insurance is a contract between you and your insurance company. We do accept assignment of benefits from Medicare and certain health plans in the area. If we participate in your plan, the cost of a visit may be only your copayment, or you may have complete coverage. Payment is due at the time of service. The patient is responsible for all deductibles and co-payments at the time the service is provided.

If your insurance withholds partial or complete payment of an insurance claim, we can help you understand their explanation, or obtain an explanation for you. However, we cannot guarantee that your insurance will pay the insurance claim. You are ultimately responsible for payment of your medical care, regardless of your insurance carrier's decisions.

You will receive a monthly statement from our office if you have an outstanding balance, or if your claim is being processed by Medicare or your insurance company. We will continue to send you a bill while a balance is due. Patients are responsible for payment of their medical care within a reasonable period of time.

If you have no health insurance or cannot pay the entire amount of your bill, please speak with our billing department who will assist you in making reasonable payment arrangements.

If you have a question about your bill, please call the billing department at 941-497-5494. Please have your bill or explanation of benefits available so that we can attend to you promptly and efficiently.
